What gives????
I finally got tired of the light coming & going, so I called my local Toyota dealer. They said this sensor has an "issue"-read that FUBAR-which means the thing was not designed well so it fails a lot. I was told to bring my XB in and they would replace it. YEA---like I have nothing better to do than hang around for 2-3 hours while the mechanics decide whether or not they'll fix my car that day or make me come back!!!

have you tried resetting the sensor as i described above? i bought a used scion, and the dealer i bought it from pulled the wheels to check the brakes. i had the light coming on repeatedly as well until i did the reset as described. i've driven 2000 miles since then without it coming back on.

Thanks for sharing your tip from the Owner's Manual...I hadn't seen the part about the sensor light flashing 3 times...so far, since following those instructions, I have driven 70 miles and the light has NOT come back on!

Thanks so much!!!! Now, if only I had turned the page inthe Manual Imay have come across that info myself! LOL

LOL...a mechanic friend offered me a piece of black tape to "solve" the problem by covering the light!

Good luck, I have gotten my issue all straightened out now!

Where is the tire pressure indicator in a 2008 Scion Xd? After reading the posts, it looks like I need to reset it? Thx.

Should be on the dashboard, on the instrument cluster.

Exclamation

I had to put air in all of my tires following a 3 hr highway trip - all were low but one more so than the others. Afterward I hit the reset button (which is in my glove compartment) the light went out. About 20 minutes later on the highway, it came back on . I stopped and checked the pressure to see if maybe I had a fast leak but the guage still read the same as when I inflated. Sooo I headed back where I came from to figure this out. I did not need to be 1/2 way between Philly and NYC at night with a blow-out or other related issue. Does the light come on if the tires are OVER inflated by even a little bit or is only when they are lower than they need to be? Could it be the way I reset the guage?

Thumbs down

A mechanic told me once an original stock tire is replaced or fixed (which causes the light to come on) or whatnot, the tire pressure light will never be the same- it'll always come on after that smh
