Broken Tach

My girlfriends 2005 TC's tach suddenly stoped working today....is there a sensor on the tranny or something simple that it could be? Im a vw guy, so this TC stuff is new to me, any help would be appreciated.

Probably a sensor on the tranny. That's how it is on most Toyotas. I would test the wires coming off it to make sure.
